Based on the prey model, EZcomplete fur Cats contains liver and pancreas. We have adjusted the ratios and thus are able to use calcium carbonate as a source of calcium for cats and kittens. Homemade food feeders are keenly aware that "calcium carbonate" is not appropriate for kittens. Most believe (and this gets written and repeated) the problem is sufficient calcium. That was never the deficiency, it is phosphorus that is at issue. Thus, the adjustment to the prey model to account for needed phosphorus. Using calcium carbonate instead of bone means senior cats and cats with insufficient kidney function may be able to enjoy the benefits of of a diet made with EZcomplete given its phosphorus on a dry matter basis is less than that 1% per KG DM threshold. Yet as mentioned, food made with the premix also meets the needs of growing kittens and pregnant cats & cat moms. The EZComplete premix also includes digestive enzymes, that both help reduce the workload of the pancreas and additionally enables the meat used with the supplement to be cooked and yet the food still provides digestive enzymes. The diet includes New Zealand green-lipped mussels (an omega 3 with many health benefits). Finally, egg yolk and minerals are added to account for what is missing by not feeding an entire small rodent.  Above all, you supply the fresh, truly human grade meat. You control the primary ingredient in your cat’s natural diet. We provide the premix  to make your pet's diet balanced and complete in one EZ step.
