How Much Meat do the Bags Balance?

Is it safe to use the EZComplete if I didn't refrigerate it right away?
  • Yes. The premix remains safe if you didn't refrigerate it immediately:
  • Refrigeration maintains freshness longer. If you didn't see the banner on the front of the package for a few weeks to a few months after opening it, the premix should be fine, but please put it in the refrigerator or freezer now. All that's happened is the life span of remaining nutritionally intact might have become shorter. There is no way to gauge by how much time, we don't know storage conditions in your home. But per FDA guidelines on dry products (it is just 3% moist) it is safe to feed as long as it smells good: it should not smell sour, sulfurous or like rancid fat.
  • You can store it in the freezer, it will remain a powder given the extremely low moisture content of 3%.
  • Please note: If it was not refrigerated after opening and the temperature has risen to over 90F (32.2C) for any length of time, the enzymes in the powder will be deactivated, but it has not become harmful. If it smells off (like vinegar, sulfur or rancid fat) at any time, do not use it. It is otherwise OK to use.
